In April the winter gives way to spring
and the slow slumber of cold
is woken by the warm rays of the sun. Trees shed the chill of winter
and adorn themselves in emerald tapestries.
Flowers emerge from the tundra
like the arms of a newborn child
and dress the landscape in
hues of crimson and blonde.
The birds begin to sing their songs of summer
and fly in the cerulean sky.
Love begins anew
and new voices join the avian choir. The animals of the wood
bask drunkenly in the sun,
